A Trumbull woman beat some huge odds to win $100,000 in the Cash 5 lottery game.
Grace Krzynowek matched all five numbers in a recent drawing to take home the biggest prize in the game.
The odds of matching all five numbers is 1 in 324,632, according to CT Lottery.
Krzynowek claimed her big prize on Wednesday at CT Lottey’s headquarters in Rocky Hill.
She bought the winning ticket at the Trumbull Food Mart on White Plains Road.
The Connecticut Lottery publishes the list of prize winners of $10,000 or more on its winners list on its web site. According to its rules: “Winners cannot remain anonymous. The CT Lottery will consider a winner’s name, city/town, and the prize amount a matter of public record, unless the winner produces a valid protective order or Address Confidentiality Program authorization card.”
While most winners claim prizes using their individual names, some winners come forward using other legal entities (i.e., trusts, business partnership) to claim their prizes – and to better shield their identities. In those instances, the Lottery will promote the winner using that legal entity’s name.
