A winning lotto Powerball ticket worth $7.3 million has been sold in Taranaki.
The ticket, which scooped $7 million in Powerball first division and $333,333 in Lotto first division in Wednesday night’s draw, was sold at The Store in Westown.
The Store which opened in August 2016 only began selling Lotto tickets at the end of October 2019.

“Everyone is in trying to find out who it belongs to,” Wineera said.
“We have got quite a few coming in to check, wanting to know and people obviously calling in to congratulate us. It’s a good buzz, the sun is shining and there is lots of happy people around today.”
While the ticket holder had not yet come forward to claim their winnings, Wineera hoped it would be a local so the money could be fed back into the economy.
“It would be great if it was someone local but I think anyone at the moment would be deserving.
“I’m sure it’s going to bring a big smile to someone’s face.”
After being notified her business had sold the big winner, within seven months of selling tickets, on Wednesday night Wineera said she felt a sense of excitement.
“It’s kind one of those things you always want to happen.
“It’s a pretty good feeling amongst everything else that’s going on at the moment.”
The ticket is the third major Powerball prize winner to be sold in Taranaki in the last 18 months, with a $22.3 million winner sold at the Inglewood Book Centre in January 2019 while in November 2018 Fitzroy Lotto and Mags sold a winning ticket worth $12.5 million.
The two other winning first division tickets were sold on MyLotto to players from Manawatu-Whanganui and Gisborne who also receive $333,333 each.
Strike Four was not struck on Wednesday and will roll over until Saturday when it will be worth $300,000.
