The estimated jackpot is $20 million. The lump sum payment before taxes would be about $15.8 million. If there is no jackpot winner, the top prize will grow larger for the next drawing.
Powerball is held in 45 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
A $2 ticket gives you a one in 292.2 million chance at joining the hall of Powerball jackpot champions.
The drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Eastern, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The deadline to purchase tickets is 9:45 p.m.
