A Wanneroo man who “just knew” he had won the jackpot and a Landsdale prankster have emerged as two of the four mystery WA division one Lotto winners.
Both men each won a $740,000 share of Saturday’s jackpot after checking their tickets this week.
The Wanneroo man gave his SlikPik 15 ticket to his partner to check at the aptly-named Wanneroo Winners Lottery Kiosk and joked about winning the top prize.
“I just popped my head up and confidently joked to my partner ‘I’ve won’,” he said.
“I didn’t see or even know my numbers, but I just knew I had won.”
But, while he said he felt like a “fool” for making the joke, it so emerged he was in for a windfall.
The woman said she had “shivers” at learning the news.
“I went to zap the ticket and realised we had won,” she said.
“I had shivers, but my husband just said he knew he had won.”
The Landsdale man, who bought his ticket from Darch Plaza Newsagency, decided to keep the news of his Lotto win to himself before pranking his wife.
“I picked my wife up from work and said I needed her help to collect something from Subiaco,” the man, who is aged in his 60s said.
“At first I said we were going to look at a camper trailer.”
Instead, the man drove her to Lotterywest’s winners room, where they collected their cash.
“He’s full of tricks, but this would have to be his best one yet,” the woman said.
The couple plan to spend their win on their retirement and holiday within WA.
